Trakt Null: Defiance, Survival & Protest

Out of the wreckage of a former life in Frankfurt, Germany, and born from a place of radical acceptance, Trakt Null emerged in 2025. This solo project is not merely music; it is a declaration of survival, a DIY punk defiance against corporate behemoths, and an authentic, beautifully scarred rebirth.
Steeped in the DNA of 80s Canadian industrial-like Skinny Puppy and injected with the pulsing, modern dark-techno blood of Phase Fatale and Schwefelgelb, Trakt Null’s EP, Aberration, offers a visceral experience. This is not background music designed for the algorithmic masses. In fact, Alex has consciously chosen to keep it entirely off streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. It exists purely for the love of the art, a deliberate protest against a mainstream music industry that exploits creators to fund the very corporate and fascist structures the project stands against.
The EP opens with the title track, 'Aberration' that functions as a thick, dark-techno soundtrack instantly teleporting the listener's mind into the sweat-slicked walls of an underground Berlin night club on a suffocating summer night. It breathes with a rebellious energy, acting as an anthem for the outcasts who refuse to conform to the plastic, superficial standards of everyday society.
Another favourite of ours from the E.P is 'Reality' and it is here that the project’s haunting core emerged from the shadows. The track brings the crushing weight of impending doom to life. Trakt Null’s distorted vocals slice through the darkness, sending a distinct shiver down the spine. It is hauntingly beautiful, demanding that the body move even as the world around it seems to crumble — a sound that reflects the title of the name it stands for.

The remixes from the EP expand this dark universe elegantly into a multi-genre spectral of symphonic elements. 'Aberration,' featuring Suzi Sabotage, hits a sweet spot where life and death meet at the edge of the world. Sabotage’s vocals layer over the amplified, driving beats lull the listener into a deep, trance-like state demanding for introspection.
Our team at Goth Gigs, a dark-wave music, art and cultural platform based in India, interviewed the post-punk underground artist, Trakt Null.

"I built my own drum kit when I was 4 years old, out of old cardboard boxes and paper trash cans." - Trakt Null
We asked Trakt Null to share a rock bottom moment of his life that inspired him to keep going.
"Since 5 years I am suffering from ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), an illness that takes away almost all the energy and strength you need for an average day. It makes you intolerant against any form of exercise, be it mental or physical. Life is riddled with crashes.
After more than 3 years of total incapacity and pain, symptoms got a tad better and allowed me to get back to music on my good days. This helped me to achieve acceptance of my condition, instead of fighting against it.
I am fully aware that without releasing music and experiencing the support of the greatest community I ever was a part of, this phase in my life could have easily gone into a downward spiral.
But in the end, the illness urged me to completely refocus, rebuild my complete existence from the ground up.
Now, I am restarting my life, planning to emigrate from Germany next year and slowly, but steadily creating a completely new acceptant way of life by incorporating the illness from scratch. It is the most difficult, but also the most beautiful thing to experience after having lost my job, home and funds to the illness and hitting rock bottom." as he puts it.

We asked Trakt Null what advice he would give to his younger self.
"Never listen to what others try to plow into your head telling you what you are and what you are not, what you can do and what you can’t do, whom to bow to or be obedient to. You are a good and kind person and no one has the right to judge you based on your appearance. If they do, fuck them. It is not your fault. It is theirs. You don’t need these people in your life, celebrate that they are gone. Make music, show it to people, gather mates to form a band. Fuck normal. Be proud of being an aberration." - Trakt Null
